Day 10 - *Toy Shoot
This is the LAST of TWO classes you have to work on this project.
Toy Shoot Assignment
You will use the rules of composition to create a series of SIX images based upon a theme. Your images will each feature a small toy of yours as your subject. Your theme can be as simple as "A day in the life of..." to something deeper, like an feeling ("Being alone," "Sadness," "Joy").
The goal of this project is for you to add personality to an inanimate object by way of photographic composition.
Camera Settings:
Shooting Mode: P (Adjust command dial to achieve as low an F-stop number as possible)
ISO: Your choice (1600 inside, 400 or less outside is a good default)
Orientation: Landscape (Horizontal)
Focal Length: Your choice (but remember that 55mm helps you achieve shallow depth of field)
Other criteria:
- At least four of the images must demonstrate rule of thirds composition
- At least one image must demonstrate leading lines
- At least one image must feature a repeating pattern. This can include a texture.
Additional tips:
- Angle is very important in this project. You will need to get down to "eye level" with your subject for some of the shots, rather than just pointing down and shooting.
- As always, carefully consider your background before shooting.
- You have the ability to move both yourself and your subject, so use that ability to achieve ideal composition!
- The focus of your image needs to be on your subject, so keep that in mind when considering colour contrast, depth of field, etc.
HAND-IN INSTRUCTIONS:
1) If you haven't already done so, go to your Google Drive and upload a copy of your photographs to your "Day 9-10" folder within the "Photography 1205" folder.
2) Select THREE images from your Toy Shoot folder that you want to submit.
3) Rename those three images "1.jpg", "2.jpg", and "3.jpg".
3)UPLOAD TO THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM for marking.
ALMOST DONE!!
MAKE sure to check all folders that you have submitted the required materials for marking. Check with the teacher for additional RUBRICS or REFLECTIONS that could be part of this course mark.
Great Work!! CONTINUE to DAY 12-14 ALPHABET SHOOT
