Panoramas
*Part II

COM1275 - HOME
Day 2 - *PanoramasToday's project is a ONE-DAY assignment, due at the end of class today.

*** If you missed last class, watch yesterday's tutorial video first!

Panorama Assignment
You will stitch together a horizontal panorama of the trees behind the school. Keep your distance and try to have the treeline at a consistent distance from the camera (i.e. nothing in the immediate foreground).

Please take a minimum of six images to get the shot. Depending on how much you overlap, you might want a couple more. Regardless of the number of images you take, though, The panorama must have a 3:1 Width/Height crop ratio. To do this:

1) Create your panorama.
2) Select the CROP TOOL (C) in Photoshop
3) In the top-left corner of the screen, select "ratio" from the pull-down menu.
4) In the two adjacent boxes, type in "3" and "1".
5) Adjust the crop box (keeping that proportion) until you like the composition.
6) Press ENTER or click on the check mark box to accept the crop.

CAMERA SETTINGS:

Shooting Mode: M
Focus: A for the first image, but switch to manual afterwards and leave it at the exact same focus for the remaining shots.
Aperture: F/8 - F/11 is best for sharpness and having everything in focus.
Orientation: You will take vertical images that will then be stitched into a horizontal panorama.
