Assessment

Fin-home
The assessment for this course is based on the completion of a personal reflection journal, a course project containing two components, and your ability to meet the basic course competencies through completion of assignments and classwork. Suggested course weighting is as follows, but you should check and confirm this with your teacher:
  • Course Project Final – 35%
    • Business Plan 5%
    • Simulated Business [15% Balance Sheet, Ledger, Journal]
    • Portfolio
  • Assignment(s)  - 45%
  • Portfolio and Professionalism Competencies –  [15% Part of Course Project & Class Materials]
  • Careers Report – 10%
As you work through this course module, you will be instructed to save your work to your course folder within Google Classroom. The purpose of saving your work is to provide you with
  • evidence of your learning
  • the building blocks to complete the final course project
  • a foundation for you to build on in other General Business courses, and throughout your Career and Technology Studies program
  • a future reference as you continue your business studies
Basic competencies will be assessed throughout the course at the discretion of your teacher. Refer to the Basic Competencies Rubric, the Personal Reflection Journal Rubric, and the Course Project Rubric to become familiar with what is expected for your self-assessment. The rubrics are available below.
